RIVALCHARTS · TOURNAMENT TERMS

Tournament delivery terms

These terms apply to organizer tournament packages — the events listed on a coverage manifest you received from us. They are linked from every manifest before payment. Individual report purchases at rivalcharts.com are not tournament packages and are not governed by this page.

The delivery standard

Books go out as soon as they are ready, and never less than 24 hours before the game they cover.

A scouting report that arrives right before first pitch is unread, and one that arrives during or after the game is worse than nothing. Practically, nothing is built on game day: every book for a tournament is built before the event from captures collected at registration, and delivery is an email, not a build.

What is covered

For every team on the coverage manifest marked COVERED at capture close:

The commitment is scoped to pool play because pool-play schedules are known in advance, and to covered teams because those have enough games on record to build an honest book.

What is not covered — the bracket bonus

Bracket-round books are a bonus, outside these terms. A bracket opponent is decided 0–3 hours before the game, so the 24-hour standard cannot hold there — and rather than quietly lower the standard, the bracket layer sits outside the commitment entirely. When a team advances and we are told in time, we send the book on their next opponent: free, best-effort, no refund attached. A team that receives one got something extra; a team that does not has lost nothing it was owed.

Coverage and the games floor

A book requires at least 5 games on record for the team being scouted — below that, count grids and spray charts are noise, and we do not send a thin book and call it a report. Before the event you receive a coverage manifest listing every entrant's status. A team that reaches the floor before capture closes is added automatically, at no extra charge.

The price is flat for your field size and does not move with coverage. What protects you against a thin field: if fewer than 75% of your entrants reach the games floor, you receive a pro-rata credit toward your next event.

Capture cutoff

Captures close at the time printed on your manifest — normally the Thursday evening before a weekend event. After that the manifest is final and pricing is locked to it. The cutoff exists so that no build lands on game day.

Price

Flat per event, by field size: $1,800 up to 16 teams · $2,500 up to 24 teams · $3,000 for 25–32 teams.

The price is agreed before capture opens and does not change with coverage; the manifest's approval freezes the field it was agreed against. Fields of 25–32 teams are available once we have delivered a full event.

The refund that backs all of this is on its own page: refund policy →
